Our Story

It started with some ambitious ideas and sprawling notes in a coffee shop in Breckenridge, Colorado. A few years later, in 2002, Breckenridge, the company, was formed.

Breckenridge was designed to combine outstanding professional services with a distinct business culture that sets us apart in the industry. Our mission is to create a bridge for people and project success, with people holding the first and most important spot in our tag line. It's about great service to our clients, a high-octane internship program, and an energetic campaign to serve the community. To separate any of these components from their tightly-woven relationship would cause the mission of Breckenridge to unravel. That is how we've built it.

To recognize our 10th anniversary as a company, Breckenridge has launched a new website, is expanding services, and is implementing an internship program under the banner The Breckenridge Project. This fall, teams of talented high school and college students will unleash their creativity, midnight Googling, and tech-age skills in a contest to design ideas for The Breckenridge Project website—something that captures the significance and essence of this "project" as only that generation can.

With all these elements coming together, we believe that 2013 will be our best year yet.

Leadership Team: John Padgett, Breckenridge Founder

John Padgett has spent over 20 years in management consulting and executive leadership. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and has spoken at national conferences, bringing sharp insights and humorous stories to audiences.

Throughout his career, he has worked closely with executives and project teams to design solutions that meet client objectives and fit well within their corporate culture. At Breckenridge, he has provided primary leadership over key relationships, including the state of North Carolina and Esri Inc. John's career also includes a leadership role with Oracle. In this position, he was Practice Director for the Mountain and Southwest regions based in Denver, Colorado. Under his leadership, the consulting practice grew 300% in its first two years.

Prior to Oracle, John spent eight years with Lockheed Martin. In this role, he established and managed a Program Management Office (PMO) that oversaw a mission-critical portfolio of projects for a federal customer, helping Lockheed Martin win consecutive 100% award fees on the program.

John began his career as an intelligence analyst with the CIA, where he achieved the distiction of a catagory one (top 10%) analyst. In this role, he reported on national level-intelligence issues that dominated the headlines of that period.

 

Leadership Team: David Stein, Client Relations and Sales

We are also expanding our leadership team at Breckenridge. David Stein joins the team as someone who clearly embodies the core values of Breckenridge. David is a relationship builder who has hosted highly-successful nationally syndicated radio shows on Sporting News Radio and Fox Sports Radio. One of David's key tasks will be to develop client relationships in the Southeast and to ensure outstanding customer service to our clients.

David is a true entrepreneur, having started and run several successful businesses. He combines a strong business and sales background with outstanding communication and people skills. He has appeared numerous times on TV, including Fox News and The Golf Channel, and has broadcast from locations that include The White House and Augusta National Golf Club. The list of notables David has interviewed include President George H.W. Bush, Vice President Al Gore, former Colts coach Tony Dungy, Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan, TNT Studio Host Ernie Johnson and the real "Radio" from the Cuba Gooding, Jr. movie. As a broadcast journalist, David has won first place awards from United Press International and the Philadelphia Press Association.
